Little Italy "Candles in church"

My ventures as an excursionist in nyc.yep how I love the subway systems and they make me happy in the best energic way possible….ohohohohohohohohohohohohoto feel the energy under my feet as I stand up to hold onto the strap….ohoh ohhoh the energy and the pull of the train..as it stops and the doors open as I see the most beautiful graffiti underground…on the way to Brooklyn…not to stop at Canal st…due to construction…have to take a longer ride then go uptown….what a view the energy of it all.

San Gennero festival…. went to church…why did the saint have one dollar bills pinned all over and when I went into the church, to my amazement…. the saints have a halo of lights around their heads and I was in such awe of such sites, so as a good catholic kid at heart/now I am a adult…I went to light the traditional candle and do my prayer/catholic thing, so I chose a saint and a nice big red candle, and saw a box which said “Deposit 1.00 for the large candle so I did and when I did, I looked for the match or the stick to light the candle, like we have here in Connecticut tell ya.its like cattle county here, compared to nycity.ok,,,no match…are people watching? I see a button to press to light the candle…. they have to be kidding…nope! So I press the button on top of the closed candle and “Voila!!!” the candle lights…. so I stare at it thinking “wow! Must have lighter fluid in it with a flint! How cool” but as I stare, I notice that the candles have dancing flames, very rythmatic and the elderly people in the pews must be staring at me by now…but to my amazement, I noticed that it was a light bulb inside the candle holder with movement of light…to make it look real…so am I going to pray to the saint? Yes. Mary with the lit up halo and her friends around her on one side of the church, and San Gennero on the other side with his friends…and others also all around….Oh only in New York City…Little Italy…ok there is more, so where is the fried dough pizza here people wait in line for....its called Zepolli in Ny...a new learning!
